Bank Teller Test
When you hear the term “bank teller test,” this refers to basic skills exams that cover all the general skills necessary to excel in a cash-handling position. One of the most common versions of this test is the Criteria Basic Skills Test (CBST).

The CBST has 40 questions that must be answered within a 20-minute time limit. The test is proctored and you will likely not be able to use a calculator.
Accounting Skills Test
There are many companies that offer accounting skills tests, and the test may be created in-house by Scotiabank. However, many companies use the Accounting Skills test by EmployTest for their pre-hire process.
No matter which test provider is used, the content of the test will be similar. You will need to display your knowledge or accounting skills such as calculating margins, formulating net income, differentiating budgets, ending entries, balancing totals, and more.

Situational Judgement Test

Numerical Reasoning Test
Numerical Reasoning Tests may seem like an obvious choice for a banking institution, but even those who don’t directly handle cash will need numerical reasoning skills. That’s because these skills aren’t based on your general knowledge of math. Instead, this type of test shows you numeric data in the form of graphs, charts, and spreadsheets and expects you to be able to read and understand that data.
